Keyline Consultancy is directly operated by Jon and Amanda Finegold, with a range of trusted and experienced staff and freelance colleagues and associates who are able to provide services across the publishing spectrum.
Jon has worked in publishing for many years, with Macmillan Education Ltd, McGrawHill Book Company, Henley Distance Learning and Pitman/Financial Times Management. He currently acts as senior consultant to a university press, advising on flexible and blended learning solutions.
His core expertise lies in project management and problem solving, and the development of materials for open and flexible learning; recent experience has centred around creating a range of materials, for external and internal clients - from complex multi-media distance learning programmes, and the use of new production technologies, to relatively small-scale induction or training programmes.
Key clients have included Henley Management College, C&G, BPP and Middlesex University; whilst recent and past projects have required him to work very closely with the Metropolitan Police Service, the Prison Service, Gloucestershire Constabulary and the Youth Justice Board. Other organisations with which he has worked have included the London College of Printing, several UK universities, CfBT, the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development, the Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply and Investors in People, for whom a very wide range of course materials and consultancy has been provided.
Jon has also worked closely with several website development companies for many years and has advised, or written copy for, clients across an extremely wide spectrum.
Prior to working in publishing Jon, a qualified teacher, worked extensively in Europe and subsequently in the UK. His core teaching experience was in English as a Foreign Language and later teaching Business Studies, Commerce and Computing, mainly within further education.
Amanda worked at Macmillan Education as a desk editor and in the design studio, specialising mainly in the complexities surrounding children’s educational books. Following a career break to raise a family, Amanda has provided keying, DTP, proof-reading, project management and a variety of editorial services to a range of publishers and organisations. Recent expertise in the field of adult literacy and a formal counselling qualification allow her to bring an additional blend of knowledge to Keyline.
